Huck Gee: Monsters @ Kid Robot NYC
Huck Gee has been hard at work the last several weeks putting together some new pieces for his upcoming solo show, Monsters. In case you are not familiar with Huck's work, he has shown his art at the San Francisco Kid Robot store. He has also designed toys for Kid Robot, including a mini-Dunny, a DJ Q-Bert Dunny, and some top secret figures that have yet to be revealed. To the public, that is. Look, man, I've seen sketches.

Huck will also be featured in another NYC show, Tag The System, which includes 150 artists doing their thing to a scale model of a train car. Here's a mini-contest: Go to the Monsters show at Kid Robot, and get familiar with Huck's work. Then, go to the Tag the System show and find his piece. No reading name tags! Send me a picture of Huck's train, and you will win a prize. If they "ban" photography, just be stealthy and use your camera phone. The prize? Umm, how about a box of cables, or a gmail account? Your choice. Actually, just a gmail account, I don't want to deal with shipping.
Huck Gee's solo Monsters show will open on October the 28th, and runs through December 29th. There will be an opening reception on Friday, October 29th from 6-8pm. The show is at the Kid Robot NYC store on 126 Prince Street in SOHO. The phone number is (212) 966-6688. If you miss the show opening, you can still meet Huck after 11:00am M-F at the Kid Robot store on Haight Street. He is Kid Robot's West Coast Regional Executive Vice Manager.
